What’s in the formula?
– Chamomile flower water 10% – Soothing effect
– Glycerin 5% – Soothes and moisturizes the skin
– Glycolic Acid 5% – AHA exfoliant, evens skin tone
– Mandelic Acid 3% – AHA exfoliant, smoothes skin texture
– The calming power of chamomile water
Chamomile water is a must in any cleansing formula. It tones and refreshes the skin, has soothing, toning and astringent properties. In the formula of Gentle Acid Cleanser a concentration of 10% chamomile water has been used, replacing water as the main ingredient and thus multiplying the results of the formula in terms of cleansing and care.
– Free acids vs Encapsulated acids
At Transparent Lab we use liposomal encapsulation for many of the acids found in the formulas to get the best out of each, while avoiding potential acid pitfalls that can sometimes occur. Irritation is usually one of those unwanted effects. Liposomal encapsulated acids almost completely eliminate this irritation potential, but in formulas where a moderate exfoliating effect on the superficial layer of the skin is desired, they are not as effective. That’s why in Gentle Acid Cleanser you’ll find a combination of two acids in their free form, designed to encourage that controlled and safe exfoliating effect you’re looking for in the skin renewal process.
– Benefits of AHA
AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) are responsible for altering the horny layer of the skin, what we commonly call “dead skin”. Their use in exfoliating formulas is justified by their multiple benefits: they smooth and cleanse the skin, help eliminate excess sebum, stimulate skin cell renewal, restore skin tone and improve skin texture.
